My name is Steven, I am currently a first year student enrolled at the University of Toronto pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science. During my pre-collegiate years, I took Lucy's AP Calculus tutoring lessons, and I gained a substantial amount of knowledge from these lessons. As a result, I aced most of my AP Calculus tests in high school and scored a 5 on the AP exam. Finally, I was accepted by U of T's computer science department with a course average of 97%.

Dr. Ye is an awesome professional. She taught both my daughters for 5 years, ( from grade 9 until 1st year University), in 3 core subjects: mathematics, physics and chemistry. They obtained outstanding grades and received offers from all Universities they applied for after High School. My eldest daughter is an Engineer, a UBC graduate. She also has several job offers in the field of engineering. My youngest daughter is in 3rd year University at UBC, pursuing a degree in English and Journalism. Thank you, Dr. Ye for all your hard work, diligence and infinite patience, and for those early Sunday mornings, when I would call and ask you for the solution to a math problem, and you would say: “yes, my dear friend, you can come now!”. The English expression: “it takes a village to raise a child” applies in this context. Yes, it takes Dr. Ye to raise stellar students and people. Thank you, Dr. Ye! Respectfully, Ofelia 

I've had Lucy as a tutor for AP Calculus. She was extremely helpful and patient. My Calculus grades had significant improvements after having Lucy as a tutor. I scored AP Calculus 5 and received offer from UBC Sauder and U of T Rotman Commerce. I would greatly recommend Lucy! 

I am Sue and I'm currently a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at Brown University. I used to be a tutee of Lucy when I was an eleventh-grader at McRoberts Secondary. Lucy helped me with AP Physics and AP Calculus. I got 5/5 on AP Calculus and 4/5 on AP Physics exams. I was accepted into UCLA, UBC, and Mount Holyoke College, and eventually graduated Summa cum Laude in Physics from Mount Holyoke College. Lucy is very knowledgeable, responsible, and helpful. Above all, her sense of humor and contagious love for the subjects made it really easy to learn with her. I would highly recommend Lucy if you are looking for someone to fill in the gaps from school or to challenge you beyond your classroom experience. 

 Dr. Ye tutored me in AP Calculus in my 11th grade. She was very thorough and took careful measures in helping me to grasp those difficult concepts such as differentiation, integration, optimization, etc. She is experienced and knowledgeable in teaching AP Math, and her classes are effective, engaging, and fun. During class, she was very patient and accompanied me step by step at my own pace. With the help of Dr. Yip, I got a 5 on my AP exam. I believe this score is very helpful for me to get the offer from UBC engineering. Many thanks to Dr. Ye, I highly recommend taking classes with her. 

Lucy (Dr. Ye) helped my daughter immensely with her Chemistry 12 and Pre-Calc course work. Within three months, Lucy transformed my struggling student into one who routinely achieved high Bs and As on her exams. She is a really happy girl, and we highly recommend Lucy's services to any student who needs some extra support as well as a boost of confidence in STEM-focused courses. 

As a grade 12 student struggling with IB Chemistry HL, I reached out to Lucy. She was an effective instructor who explained scientific concepts in a clear way by breaking down complicated and dense information into stepwise components that were easy to understand. I personally struggled greatly with organic chemistry reactions. Lucy patiently explained the concepts with many examples to deepen my understanding beyond class material. Thanks to Lucy, Chemistry HL was no longer an enigma. I achieved an outstanding final mark, which earned me first year science credits at UBC. Lucy has my highest recommendation as an excellent chemistry teacher.

Lucy is a very helpful tutor. She goes at a pace that maximize your improvement and helps you to learn things yourself instead of simply showing you answers or how to do problems. When I first came to her I struggled with grasping concepts and solving problems on my own, but through practice and Lucy's guidance both my grades and ability to grasp mathematical concepts have improved.

   Dr. Ye tutored my daughter for Gr. 12 AP Chemistry, Chemistry and Pre-Calculus.
She was very knowledgeable and patient with her and her teaching was very effective. My daughter showed great improvements in her understanding of subjects and was able to be on top of her studies. She always accommodated my daughter's needs based on quiz and test schedules with short notice. Also based on her experience of teaching many Gr. 11 & 12 students applying to universities, she was able to give great advice and insight. 

  Taking on IB Chemistry and IB Math for Grades 11 and 12 was a huge challenge for me. Not only did I despise these two subjects, I also lacked the ability to comprehend most of the concepts that were taught. Most of my lab reports for chemistry were completed due to the constant nagging for my classmates’ help, as I couldn’t understand what I was doing at all. However, after I began my sessions with Lucy for chemistry and math, the subjects became less dreadful and confusing. Not only did she help me on my homework, she also guided me through understanding each concept with clear and concise explanations. Amazingly, I even began to have a spark of interest for these two subjects because of how good it felt to truly understand what I was learning. Lab reports was no longer a matter a completion, but actual comprehensible explorations of the hypothesis. Likewise, math questions were no longer intimidating, but challenging puzzles that I actually—surprisingly—enjoyed doing. I am now a fourth year English Literature student at UBC, and have shied away from chemistry or math for the last few years. I am thankful that having Lucy as a tutor was able to get me through the IB exams with marks which helped me to get accepted into UBC. However, more importantly, I am thankful that she made studying the two subjects I hated an enjoyable process.

Dr. Ye was my English tutor in 7th and 8th grade and was my Pre-calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Ap Chemistry, and Ap Physics tutor throughout my high school years. She is a knowledgeable, experienced, efficient, and patient tutor. Her unique and professional teaching method allows students to grasp the focus of each content efficiently and establish a solid foundation for each subject. With her help, my English level, vocabulary, and writing skills have improved significantly. I also made remarkable progress and achieved excellent grades in my science subjects, which enabled me to receive an offer from my dream university. She would provide me with targeted exercises to reinforce the content and topics I was struggling with. More significantly, her support, advice and encouragement helped me to develop a deeper understanding of many subjects such as Chemistry and Physics and gave me the confidence to take on more challenging Ap courses. I have always appreciated her teaching, both academically as well as the numerous helpful pieces of advice she has given me over the years regarding my life and future career. I highly recommend Dr. Ye. She is unquestionably an excellent and trustworthy teacher. 

    Dr. Ye has been tutoring my son in Gr 11 Physics and Chemistry. She has been excellent, always explains scientific concepts clearly and always shows the steps of solving problems clearly and logically. She has a positive, engaging and supportive attitude. She goes above and beyond, is dependable and accommodating. It is obvious she has a passion for teaching and sincerely cares about her students' success. I would recommend her without reservation.
